Dr. Kinkartz is passionate about orthopaedics and sports medicine surgery, and strives for excellence and perfection in his field. He is one of the few in this area to be subspecialty trained in sports medicine, and has received the highest level of credentialing by achieving board certified in these fields. He treats the simple to the complex orthopaedic issues. He is the team physician for LSU-Shreveport sports teams, and for a number of other schools in the area. He is active in the community, volunteering his orthopaedic expertise.
His practice involves operative and non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal injuries in all patients ranging from adolescents to the elderly, from the inactive to the high-level athlete.
After a thorough evaluation in clinic to determine your problem, a non-operative approach to treatment is typically formulated. If this is unsuccessful, a discussion of surgical treatment options may follow, if appropriate.
Surgery often involves minimally-invasive surgical approaches, such as shoulder or knee arthroscopy, in order to repair or replace ligaments, tendons, cartilage, or other damaged structures. Dr. Kinkartz also performs innovative cartilage repair and restoration procedures, joint replacements, fracture stabilization, and many other surgeries.
